With all the sound coming out of the tracks, a third ear and some auditory upgrades will be appreciated. This is Animal Collective’s ninth studio album and will be released on September 4, 2012. Album is an hour’s worth of amazing music.

Here’s another great release from Cloudkicker (Ben Sharp). To those not familiar who this guy is, here’s a short info from last.fm –
Cloudkicker is a one man progressive metal project from Ben Sharp (aka B.M. Sharp), heavily influenced by math metal and post-metal. Sharp utilizes drum machines and custom tuned guitars in his recordings. progressive and instrumental influences are also obvious in his music.
Aviation has been a major recurring theme within each release. Most of the song titles, album titles, and art work are inspired, derived, or influenced by Aviation. For example, each song title from Beacons was taken from actual black box recordings or radio transmissions from from crashed or malfunctioning airplanes.
The project has gotten a lot of attention even though he doesn’t have a record deal, and is entirely self financed and produced. Ben has gone on the record numerous times that he has no intention to ever sign a record deal. Most notably Devin Townsend stated in December 2010 that “Cloudkicker is really good stuff!” via his Facebook-page. Also Riley Breckenridge of the band Thrice named Beacons as one of his favorite albums of 2010 .

I have this uncontrollable urge to add a reverb pedal into my rig. I can come up with a lot of excuses reasons (that can compete with my work’s year-end deliverables) as to why I need to get one. I’m looking for something that’s not more than $150 and has a small footprint.
Top of my list as of the moment (most likely to change) –
Line 6 Verbzilla
Marketed to have studio grade algorithms. But what made this on top of my list is the Octo mode and the other 10 (yes, 10!) reverb types. Perfect for ambient swells. Will try to test this one first to confirm if it sucks tone and if this thing is really heavy.
